How to Balance Spirituality and Financial Freedom

got-balance1

“Prosperity and poverty are dependent on the mindset of the individual. If your thinking is defective, it will result in failure and disorder. People who worship poverty and have a wrong understanding of detachment ruin their lives. A spiritual person is often supposed to be otherworldly and is expected to express contempt for money and material prosperity. Let me tell you: to create wealth and to succeed, by itself, is a spiritual sadhana, given that it needs a focused mind, creativity and hard work. If people would realize that creating wealth and sharing it with others is an extraordinary spiritual activity, they would become much happier and would be responsible for creating a better world.” – Bhagavan

We have been taught to believe that it is not spiritual to have money. I have spent years on my spirituality and have neglected my financial life out of that belief system. Living in abundance helps us understand and participate in the four spiritual laws of attraction, the law of deliberate creation, the law of allowing and the law of balance. These laws are always working whether we know it or not so it is best we learn how to work with them on a conscious level.

If we want to be financially free and have wealth, making money shouldn’t be our primary goal. The ultimate role of money should be to afford us the time and resources to grow spiritually, delight in what we have and be grateful and share our wealth with others by doing good deeds for others.

I have explored ways to balance health, spirituality and wealth for a long time with varying degrees of success. I had a prosperity wake-up call about 10 years ago during a phone conversation with a friend. The turning point in the conversation came when I said, ” I can’t quit my job!” When I heard these words tumble from my mouth I got angry. I felt I was trapped in something from which I could not escape.

Some years ago I worked part-time for a non-profit agency as a family therapist. I learned that I would only get a 1.5 percent raise in pay this year. Trust me, this is not a lot of money. If I stayed with this job, receiving that percentage of raise per year, I would never be able to retire and do what I came here to do. The program of financial support that most of us are caught in keeps financial freedom our of reach. In essence, we work to support someone else’s dream at the expense of our own. It is okay to work for someone else, but without residual streams of income it will be difficult to quit working. Residual income is money that keeps coming in after we stop working on the project that created it, such as royalties from a book.

Secret dreams

Financial freedom is a foreign concept for many people. In my parent’s generation, people had survived the Great Depression and it was important to work the same job to support the family and retire with benefits. My father, like many in his generation, “worked hard for his money.” Unfortunately over all the years he worked, he never looked happy to me. I am sure he had secret dreams that never were fulfilled-and less than two years after he retired, he passed away.

So when I heard the words ” I can’t quit my job!” come out of me, it catapulted me into action. I wasn’t going to press the snooze button another time and end up like my parents. It was like the final key in a series of locks that opened the door for me to see the world of financial prosperity in a new way.

I learned about money and how to use it from my parents, and it wasn’t a subject taught in school. This meant that I learned very little about money, how to manage it and nothing about investing, which are the key ingredients to financial success. My parents spent all the money they had to support us. As a female, growing up in the 1960s, it was even less important to know about money because, as my father said ” your husband will take care of that part.”

What I learned about money was gleaned by not having money. On the continuum of poverty verses prosperity, I had a master’s degree in poverty and was a novice at creating financial prosperity.

I have secret dreams and I am committed to seeing them manifest! The only way that can happen is if I have money. How many of us were taught that money “is the root of all evil” or “money doesn’t grow on trees”? The energy behind these statements and many others we have heard is that money is bad and it is hard to get. If you take that a step further, anyone who has money must also be suspect.

Deep in our programing is a foundation of lack consciousness. It is no one’s fault. It started long ago and has been passed down from generation to generation. It is a program that is about to come apart, because it is not supporting us in our evolution.

How many of you have said, “I can’t afford this” or “I don’t have enough money to buy that”? Thoughts like that re-enforce lack and create more of it. Fear creates poverty consciousness and leads to lack. Love and action creates prosperity consciousness and leads to abundance. In truth, money is just an energy form, given in exchange for services rendered. We deserve it.

The Poverty Spell

Poverty is a collective spell that impacts us all to some degree. I call it a spell, because it has been passed down for generations and has taken control of our collective psyches. A spell is a word formula used to charm or overpower. Unquestioned beliefs are words that take one’s power away. To be spellbound means we are caught in a state of mind that holds us in place.

Our society has perpetuated the myth for years that successful people are mean, greedy and even untrustworthy. As youths, we were spoon-fed certain beliefs that have been perpetuated through the media.

No one is to blame, because part of the spell is that passing the information on to our children constitutes good parenting. For my parents, the myth came out of the Depression and it felt like the truth; it was all about survival.

As a spell breaker, I am compelled to help shift these antiquated beliefs. The status quo doesn’t work, because each of us is individual. There is not just one formula for living a healthy, wealthy and fulfilled life. We don’t all have to go to school, study hard, get good grades and find a good job. In fact, that is bad advice for most people.

Money has become a symbol for power. People are afraid of power, because they have seen it misused. There is an unconscious belief that if we have money, then we have power-and at the same level of consciousness, we believe it is bad. In reality, not having money is a great way of keeping yourself powerless.

True power is creative. As Carolyn Myss says: “The power to create is one of the highest alchemical spiritual principles that could possibly activate in the soul.” Creating is our soul’s mandate, and as soon as we come into alignment with this truth, we will create the life we desire. The power of creation is a calling.

The dream

I had a powerful dream about unconscious programming that really shows how deep it is.

I was in my car, with the door open-and my computer was outside of the car. I used a remote control to turn it off because I couldn’t reach it. I was in the e-mail program at the time. As I deleted the last e-mail, I watched as all of the megapixels broke down, like they were melting, and I knew a virus had just taken over my computer. I was really upset, because that meant that all of my memory was gone. Someone gave me an 800 number I could call and they would send all of my memory back, because it was all stored some place. I made the call, and I was able to retrieve my memory without losing everything.

This is a powerful metaphor for how our mind is programmed:

A virus is a program that can copy itself and infect a computer without permission or knowledge of the user – our childhood programming.

The original may modify the copies, or the copies may modify themselves, as occurs in a metamorphic virus – our beliefs passed down from generation to generation.

Some viruses are programmed to damage the computer by damaging programs, deleting files or reformatting the hard disk – social programming damages our original blueprint.

Other viruses are not designed to do any damage, but simply replicate themselves and perhaps make their presence known by presenting text, video or audio messages-those useless thoughts that spin around in our heads and the pictures and messages they create. Even these benign viruses can create problems for the computer user. They typically take up computer memory used by legitimate programs. As a result, they often cause erratic behavior and can result in system crashes.

Transcending poverty and lack

Poverty and lack are like viruses-and we can transcend them and become virus proof, and in the process, maybe even become prosperous. I love the part in the dream about being able to call a toll-free number and have all of your original memory returned to you! It’s always there and can’t be erased. That number is our original blueprint. It is our higher self, where the memory of how to create a prosperous life is stored. People are stepping forward to help us remember by reminding us how to use the laws of attraction and change our thoughts.

The archetype of the nun and monk who sacrifice material goods for spiritual values has been with us for a long time. The new archetype of the spiritual community is the Networker, which replaces the archetype of sacrifice. Networkers expand their sphere of influence by forging alliances and making connections among vastly different groups of people. We network when we create community. We network when we meet to share what we know with others. The messenger, courier, journalist, the storyteller and communicator exemplify this archetype, however it has also been reborn through Internet technology.

Collaborating as a team

A couple weeks before the conversation I had about quitting my job, I had become an independent business owner in a network marketing company that offers health and wellness products which is changing people’s lives around the world. Network marketing is a way to create residual streams of income that can be done part time in conjunction with other forms of work. I was invited to learn about this company by a mentor/friend. The level of consciousness of those involved with the company matched where I am in my own evolution.

I was drawn to the idea of using this business to explore the laws of attraction in action. I had taken a leap of faith that said to the Universe, “I am not fooling around any more! I am serious about becoming a conscious co-creator of my life and experiencing financial freedom.” I like the fact that everyone involved in our organization is collaborating as a team to create health, wealth, wisdom and freedom for the group. Our group was interesting in using the platform of network marketing to explore success consciousness.

Personal contact

Network Marketing is a business model that supports financial freedom, community building and mentorship. It is a way to meet one-on-one to share cutting-edge products, usually those not available in the mainstream. Creators of these products want to sell through personal contact with its market, rather than the impersonal market of the department store. Network marketing is a way to share information about the product and answer questions on a personal basis.

I prefer the term Conscious Network Marketing using attraction marketing, because it doesn’t carry the negative stigma associated with earlier forms of network marketing. Network Marketing is legal business model just like corporate america and it is not a pyramid scheme. It is one of the best-kept secrets in America, though corporate America tries to keep people from it.

Corporate America is the true pyramid scheme, because someone at the top gets all the financial benefit while those below give up their own dreams to work for a fraction of what they are worth so they can eek out a meager living. Donald Trump and many other wealthy people say that if their financial empire fell apart, they would find a good network marketing company so he could build back his fortune. Many of them have bought network marketing companies for their portfolios.  In network marketing, you come into a line of other business owners-and if you do what it takes to create a successful business, you can by pass those at the top with your income.

It isn’t easy pulling out of the web of lack consciousness and building a new consciousness of health, wealth, abundance and wisdom that incorporates spirituality, because the old programing doesn’t want to go away without a fight. But it is a necessary shift at this time in our evolution. Many of us are learning new way to live lives that include the physical world of wealth and material goods in balance with our spiritual consciousness.  We are creating something that will support and sustain our broader dreams.

Conscious Network Marketing

worldgrid

Conscious Network Marketing starts by using the most ethical business structure in existence, Network Marketing. Unlike corporate America, where the person at the top makes all of the money and those below work 40, 50, sometimes 60 or more hours just to make a living that supports their family, network marketing compensates not only you but everyone on your team very well for what you do.  There may be people above you but you can earn as much as they do.

The other difference Corporate America and Network Marketing is  team members are collaborating instead of competing so you end up with a business structure that fosters community, camaraderie, teamwork, and a sense of abundance; growing your business benefits everyone else’s business, and you will be successful only to the degree that you help others.

I believe that the business model of Corporate America will decline in the coming years and Network Marketing will be come the model for commerce and we will be buying from each other because it is a business model that is cooperative and allows anyone who wants it, financial freedom.

First of all, you are a wellness entrepreneur who wants to create both financial freedom so you can expand your purpose and you want the sparkling, vibrant health to enjoy that freedom.  Secondly it is a unique opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of others.

So what is Conscious Network Marketing?

  • First of all it is a vehicle for personal growth and raising your consciousness with a compensation plan attached.  You get paid while you evolve your consciousness at the same time. You can’t help but learn more about yourself and shift your consciousness then when you have your own business.
  • You receive compensation for sharing information about products and services you believe in with people who have a true need for, or interest in, your product or service. Many will be clients that you already work with.
  • You understand Attaction Marketing and how to offer people what they want and need rather than when you want and need.
  • You create  a profitable business anchored entirely in the intention to make someone else’s life better
  • You use the Law of Attraction as a way to build the perfect business for you.  One that fulfills your needs and allows you to expand your purpose.
  • You can incorporate your network marketing product or service into your existing wellness business and increase your profits.
  • You are building meaningful, fruitful rapport and relationships
  • Instead of selling something you are creating giving a service to people that will change their lives
  • You participate in the only business model in which someone else has a financial stake in your success, thus creating an environment in which you’re truly supported to reach your highest potential
  • You are building a long-term source of leveraged, residual income that will further support your mission of service
  • It creates a way to leave a legacy of health and wealth for future generations
  • You benefit from the work of the people you train without them making less as a result
  • You will be a part of the only business model that levels the playing field so your income potential doesn’t hinge on age, gender, education, race, past experience, etc. Whoever you are, the sky’s the limit.

If you are a wellness entrepreneur and what I have written resonates with you please contact Katelyn at magnetickatelyn@gmail.com.  I am looking for like minded people to add to my team.  I have been using my current Network Marketing vehicle for 8 years to create a successful team of over 60,000 customers and distributors.  I can tell you more about it when we connect.

Clearing Business Relationships

hooponopono

According to the Hawaiian  practice of forgiveness called Ho’oponopono:

“It is important to clear Karmic patterns with your clients before you start working with them, so that you don’t activate old stuff between you. Perhaps you shouldn’t be working with that person at all. Only the Divinity knows. If you work with a person and it isn’t your business, you can take on the person’s entire problem and everything associated with it. This can cause burnout. The Ho’oponopono gives the tools to prevent that from happening.”

This made me think about business relationships.  What if you did a Ho’oponopono clearing with each customer and Distributor before you began a relationship with them?  It would especially be good for new Distributors because these relationships can last a long time.

Have you ever signed up a new business partner and they a) disappeared right away, b) they stopped taking your calls, c) you worked with them for month before a conflict came up and the quit the business,  d) they had a conflict with you that came from no where, e) they just up and quit the business?

Imagine if you could clear the karma before you started working with them so none of this happened. You would have less drama in you business and more success!

You want to come into a business relationship with a clean slate so you don’t activate old karma. You want to clear the slate so their issue and your own issues don’t get projected and become business issue that ruin your working relationship.

Imagine the success you would have if you entered into business relationships with a clean slate!

It’s never too late to go back and clear relationships with people who are already in your business.

HOW TO DO HO’OPONOPONO

Freedom from Karma

In 1976 Morrnah Simeona, regarded as a healing priest or kahuna lapaʻau, adapted the traditional hoʻoponopono of family mutual forgiveness to the social realities of the modern day. For this she extended it both to a general problem solving process outside the family and to a psycho-spiritual self-help rather than group process

State of Zero

After Simeona’s passing in 1992, her former student and administrator Ihaleakala Hew Len, co-authored a book with Joe Vitale called Zero Limits adapting Simeona’s hoʻoponopono teachings. Taking her teaching to the next level, the book brings the new idea that the main objective of hoʻoponopono is getting to “the state of Zero, where we would have zero limits. No memories. No identity.”  To reach this state, which Len called ‘Self-I-Dentity’, one has to repeat constantly, according to Joe Vitale’s interpretation, the mantra, “I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”  It is based on Len’s idea of 100% responsibility, taking responsibility for everyone’s actions (once again according to Joe Vitale’s interpretation), not only for one’s own. If one would take complete responsibility for one’s life, then everything one sees, hears, tastes, touches, or in any way experiences would be one’s responsibility because it is in one’s life. The problem would not be with our external reality, it would be with ourselves. To change our reality, we would have to change ourselves. Total Responsibility, according to Hew Len, advocates that everything exists as a projection from inside the human being.  This practice views all consciousness as part of the whole, so any error that a person clears in their own consciousness should be cleared for everyone.

You can also clear karma as it comes up rather than constantly repeating the mantra through out the day.  As suggested in this post you can clear karma with someone before beginning a relationship with them.

If you are in a relationship already you can still clear the karma anytime.  Imagine going back to each relationship that is part of your business and doing the meditation for each person.  You can use the second meditation video to do that and spend 4 minutes on the people you feel compelled to do a clearing with.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Qoq75-DQm4  This is a good description of the process.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac5SGwRPv0o   Just the meditation only 4 minutes long.

The Soul of My Year 2015

20150101_124025

It’s New Years Day!

There is always all this talk about New Years Resolutions, which I stopped doing years ago.  I moved from making resolutions to setting intentions in accordance with the Law of Attraction.  It turns out that intentions are only a softer way of making resolutions because you are setting intentions about what you want to accomplish.

I don’t know about you but when I set goals and/or intentions it switches on a button in my mind.  It is the “looking for evidence that it is happening” button.  Once I start looking for evidence of my manifestations I get derailed.  I go into a feeling state that doesn’t help me manifest anything closely resembling what I desire.  In fact it helps me manifest less of what I desire and more of what I don’t desire.

This year I decided to create my year out of feeling states.  What I mean by that is that I want to feel a certain way no matter what, be it in my business or personal life.   When you boil it down all the the goals we set are meant to get us to a certain feeling, be it joy, happiness, contentment, security, you name it, anyway, so why not just create the feelings to begin with.  If you know about the Law of Attraction it is all about feelings and thinking from a certain feeling state.

When you are feeling good, you are automatically attracting all the good things you want to you. Feeling good is your message from your  Internal Guidance System (Emotional Guidance/Inner Being) telling you that you are on the right track.  If you feel happy it is not just a feeling but a message to you that you are moving in the right direction, just like you GPS does in your car.

  • Feeling bad = you are going the wrong direction and thinking thoughts that are incorrect for you and what you want
  • Feeling Good = you are on the right track, going the right direction, thinking thoughts that ARE in alignment with how the Universe & Source Energy see you and want to tell how to proceed.

I want to build a successful business and setting goals, making resolutions might not get me there as fast as I can if I immerse myself in the feeling OF say prosperity or joy.  If I can wake up each morning and say, what will bring me a feeling of joy and prosperity this morning and follow the guidance I get I will be much more magnetic than if I say, “I have to call 11 leads, pass out 20 of my cards, read a few chapters in my personal development book so I can sign up some new team mates.”

So let’s say that you wake up and are committed to feeling joy.  You leave the house from the place of joy and you start meeting people because they are automatically attracted to your joy vibration.  Conversations start up and you find yourself talking about your business and because of how joyful you are the person you are talking with wants to know more and is interested in joining the business with you.  That was a whole lot easier than making 11 calls to leads, who may or may not be interested, many of them will say no.  You feel constricted because no one wants to make calls to leads and consequently things don’t move in the direction you hoped to go.

I chose 4 feeling states that I want to feel this year and those are the states out of which I will manifest the things I want to create.

  • Love
  • Joy
  • Prosperous
  • Radiant

After I picked the feelings I intuitively painted a painting to represent the soul of my year.  This is intuitive information from my internal guidance system that represents the focus for my year.  After the painting was complete I researched all of the symbols and wrote an intuitive message that goes with it.   I have done soul paintings for myself and other people for 17 years and because I know how accurate they are I can use this as a meditation to guide my year.

10882173_10152485821186750_9122773751750979186_n

I am excited to use this beautiful painting and the intuitive reading as a guide for 2015.

If you would like to know how to get a soul portrait done for yourself follow this LINK   You can have one done for your birthday, for a special project you are working on, for your wedding or any reason you can think of.

The Measure of Success

water-wallpaper-hd-free-133

How do we measure the level of our success?

As an author, artist and entrepreneur it is easy to start measuring my success against the success of others in my field.  Is my success measured by how many books I have sold compared to other people, how many paintings I have sold and for how much?  How far I have climbed on the ladder in my network marketing company.  It is easy to think it is.  It is also easy to get down on yourself if you don’t meet some arbitrary standard.

But is that the true measure of success?

For the author, artist, musician what if success was measured by how you felt in the creation process and how it impacted you to become something different?  Would it matter if you only sold one book, one painting or one song if that piece of art changed someone’s life? Is that success?

For the entrepreneur does it matter how many widgets you sold and how much money you made, is that  the measure of success? Is success based on getting a certain title?  Or is success based on the fact that what you sold was experienced as positive and helpful to those who bought the widget, no matter how much you made in the process.  Success in this instance could be the fact that you transformed yourself in the process of selling those widgets.

What if success was solely measured by the fact that you had the guts to express yourself and let other people see it, or just in the fact that it changed you in some way?  Success never takes into account the circumstances out of which something was created and how much courage it took to make steps forward.  All of the steps should count as success, don’t you think?

Those are not the questions people ask when assessing if something was successful or not.

The meaning of success has gotten away from us, has gotten impersonal and is measured by standards that have nothing to do with success at all.  We lose sight of our accomplishments because they don’t live up to some high, unattainable standard that we and society set for them.

Maybe it is the word Success that is creating the problem.

suc·cess
səkˈses/
noun
  1. the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.
“the president had some success in restoring confidence”
    synonyms: favorable outcome, successfulness, successful result, triumph;

    “the success of the scheme”
    • the attainment of popularity or profit.
      “the success of his play”
synonyms: prosperity, affluence, wealth, riches, opulence

      “the trappings of success”
    • a person or thing that achieves desired aims or attains prosperity.
“I must make a success of my business”
      synonyms: triumph, bestseller, blockbuster, sellout;

      informal(smash) hit, megahit,winner

No pressure there!  As you can see by the very definition “success” comes with a pressure to be, do or become something lofty.

The successes that I accomplished this year an not exactly the ones I set out to achieve.  Sometimes our lofty plans are derailed and it is for our highest and best that they were, even if we can’t see the reason right away. According to my spiritual blueprint they were the ones I was meant to achieve.

I have achieved some amazing things this year, some of them came out of the fact that my original plan got derailed early in the year.  I wrote a book and published it and that wouldn’t have happened if I had stuck with my plan. I went to Bali for a month to learn an new painting technique, I am working on a children’s book and achieve a level of success in my network marketing business but what is bigger in the scheme of things is I transformed myself.  I released old programs that were getting in my way of success, I learned completely new ways of looking at myself and my world, I spent quality time with myself, my kids and my grandson,  made many new friends and I got a new cat!  I have expressed myself and become more authentic.

Did I complete with perfection the list I created at the beginning of the year, no!

      Does it matter? No!

      Was I successful? Yes!

I am a success because I feel more complete, more serene, more grateful, more compassionate and more loving and accepting of myself.

I think it is time we create a new definition for success. One that is kinder, gentler and realistic.

I am curious, how do you define success?
