What if Illness and Lack were your Greatest Teacher for Prosperity?

Just by its nature, illness puts you in a state of lack. It creates exhaustion, loss of health, loss of income, pain, fear and grief. Serious illness threatens your life on all levels, especially if it is long term.  You can not create health and abundance from this state of consciousness and more likely you continue to create more of the same.

Part of healing is pulling yourself out of this state of mind. Many people don’t have the tools or inner resources to do this and often end up living in this place of lack.

Imagine if illness and the subsequent financial difficulties that often follow came into your life to teach you how to be healthy and abundant and you needed to be a willing student in order to learn. Easier said than done, right? You are sick, exhausted and broke for God’s sake! I get it because that has been my journey for the last 3 1/2 years. It’s easy to find lack because it is always in your face, in the pain, the doctor visits, exhaustion, fear, unpaid bills and the phone calls from bill collectors you get every day.  Those things constantly pull at you.

Before I had the first of five heart attacks and open heart surgery, I believed I was prosperous and healthy and I was on the physical level. I didn’t have credit card debt, I was making $8000-$10,000 per month, I could travel, bills were paid on time, I could give money to people in need and physically I felt great.  But a true state of prosperity and health is an inner state of mind that has nothing to do with the external world or having money. From an inner state of health and wellness we attract everything we need.

That was where I was still out of balance and had things to learn. My path was one of cultivating a prosperous heart. In order to do that and to see and discover what was out of balance I needed to experience extremes and as an added twist I needed to do it alone rather than having a partner to support me.

I realized from the beginning that I was being asked to be the student of this powerful teacher. I am not saying I was always willing and that there wasn’t screaming, crying and bashing of teeth, yet I learned so much about who I truly am by having my world turned inside out! Illness has been a formidable teacher.

Now I end my day with a question that you might want to try too. How was I prosperous today? From there I look back on my day thinking about how I was gifted with health, financial abundance, love and joyful experience and feel grateful.

You can pull yourself out of lack consciousness after serious illness. I am not saying it is easy. I am saying with a commitment to living a new state of consciousness from what you are currently experiencing and baby steps and self compassion you can do it!

Magic Keys to Manifestation

By now most of you have seen the movie The Secret.  I think this movie was a great introduction to the Law of Attraction but only the beginning.  First of all it is only one of the Natural Laws that impacts the universe and second, it isn’t as easy as it is portrayed in the movie when you first start working with it.

Becoming efficient at the Law of Attraction, which by the way is working at all times whether we know it or not, takes practice.  The beginning work includes a lot of self discovery and change in order to make it possible to align with those things you want to manifest.

Here are some keys to consider as you go:

Key 1: Eliminate poverty consciousness.  That is the point of view where some people have everything and you have nothing.  The belief that you don’t deserve to have money.  I remember saying “I want to be a millionaire, does anyone else want to join me?” to a room for of women.  It got so quiet you could hear a pin drop.  I could only imagine what was going through their minds.  I am sure there was some sort of poverty or deserving program running.

Key 2: Comparison.  Comparison is the quickest way to kill the flow of energy flowing toward what you want to create.  Recognize jealousy and envy toward people who have more.  When you feel yourself comparing yourself to someone else remember your journey is your journey and it won’t look like anyone else’s.

Key 3: Dream Big.  Don’t shrink your dreams to fit your budget. Using finite thinking will just keep you constricted in your thinking and action.  Instead expand how much you want to make so that you can start having more of what your want.  The more you can expand your dreaming the more you allow more to come in.

Key 4: Birds of a Feather flock together.  It is said that if you look at your 10 closest friends you will have an indication of your success or lack of success.  Start looking for people who inspire you and spend time with them.  This will increase your ability to think positive and attract more of what you want.

Key 5: Make a mental note or keep a journal of things that are happening to support movement toward manifesting your desires.  Even the smallest steps count and make it more possible for you to believe you can have what you want.

Key 6:Make a commitment to personal development.  I think network marketing and having your own business is the greatest vehicle for personal develop on the planet.  If things are not going in the direction you want them to go you are the only one to blame.  Yes you can try to blame other people or things but ultimately it comes down to you.

Key 7: Have an attitude of gratitude.   Being grateful for what you have is magnetic.  Make a gratitude journal and write at least one thing that happened each day that brought you closer to your dreams.

Finally, don’t be hard on yourself when things seem to be going in the wrong direction.  You can start fresh anytime.  If you find yourself where you don’t want to be, pick one of these keys and focus on it for a few days and watch the magic!

Prosperity Consciousness and Success

Prosperity is a mindset.  It is your expectation about how you want life to look and be.  It is a consciousness that should permeate everything thing you do.  Expect to expand your wealth…wealth of knowledge, relationships, income, wisdom, love and joy and that is what will expand.  Prosperity consciousness is not just about money and things, it is a consciousness that encompasses everything.

So often I see people join a network marketing opportunity all excited at the possibilities and quickly lose the feeling.   Society has programmed our minds to think more negatively then positively.  Why is that?  It is old paradigm thinking that continues to be promoted by the media.   For example, most of the nightly new is about bad things that have happened around the world.  Who died, which countries are fighting with each other, who abused who, and so on and so forth.   I have never seen a news hour filled with fun, exciting, joyful events, have you.

This programming starts when we are young, gets well established by the time we are seven or eight years only and becomes the normal way of thinking.  I call it lack consciousness when we focus on what is wrong with the world and ignore all that is right.  We are not taught prosperity consciousness and yet that is the very thing that is going to move us toward creating a successful life.  As Louise Hay says ” Your prosperity consciousness is not dependent on money: your flow 0f money is dependent upon your prosperity consciousness.”

We can always change our consciousness.  I used to be caught up in the lack consciousness mindset just like everyone else.  There was a time when I was raising my two children and was in between jobs and had very little money.  I was at a very low point and knew I needed to shift my focus if I was going to turn things around.  I remember coming home one day and found the seeds from my maple tree all over the ground.  You know those little helicopter seeds.   It immediately struck me how abundant the universe is!  I started to imagine if each of those seeds turned into a tree and how it would be a whole forest and the tree didn’t stand around worrying about it.

I made a commitment to myself to start paying attention to how much I really had.  I started a list and on it I put any time anyone gave me any thing, including, food, money, gifts, material things I might have needed.  The more I paid attention the more my prosperity increased.  By the end of a nine month period, without a job, I had received the equivalent of $25,000 in free computer programing to learn to build a website, a new roof for free, food and gifts.  The list covered a whole sheet of paper.  I got really excited to see the list grow and it did!  What this taught me was that I live in a prosperous and abundant world and I am always taken care of.  It also shifted my consciousness around money and it is no longer an issue for me.

So even if you don’t have any money, you can create for your mind the reality that what you do have is overwhelming abundance.

Imagine if you started focusing on everything that was going right in your business and made a list of those things.  You would be so business looking for the positive things that were happening that you would forget about what wasn’t working.  You know what would happen then?  Your business success would sky rocket and you would grow the kind of business you had dreamed of when you started.

Go ahead, I dare you!  Start making a list of all the abundance you are already receiving.  Do this for a month and let me know what happens.  I think you will be saying ” Thank you Universe! I want more!
