Magic Keys to Manifestation

By now most of you have seen the movie The Secret.  I think this movie was a great introduction to the Law of Attraction but only the beginning.  First of all it is only one of the Natural Laws that impacts the universe and second, it isn’t as easy as it is portrayed in the movie when you first start working with it.

Becoming efficient at the Law of Attraction, which by the way is working at all times whether we know it or not, takes practice.  The beginning work includes a lot of self discovery and change in order to make it possible to align with those things you want to manifest.

Here are some keys to consider as you go:

Key 1: Eliminate poverty consciousness.  That is the point of view where some people have everything and you have nothing.  The belief that you don’t deserve to have money.  I remember saying “I want to be a millionaire, does anyone else want to join me?” to a room for of women.  It got so quiet you could hear a pin drop.  I could only imagine what was going through their minds.  I am sure there was some sort of poverty or deserving program running.

Key 2: Comparison.  Comparison is the quickest way to kill the flow of energy flowing toward what you want to create.  Recognize jealousy and envy toward people who have more.  When you feel yourself comparing yourself to someone else remember your journey is your journey and it won’t look like anyone else’s.

Key 3: Dream Big.  Don’t shrink your dreams to fit your budget. Using finite thinking will just keep you constricted in your thinking and action.  Instead expand how much you want to make so that you can start having more of what your want.  The more you can expand your dreaming the more you allow more to come in.

Key 4: Birds of a Feather flock together.  It is said that if you look at your 10 closest friends you will have an indication of your success or lack of success.  Start looking for people who inspire you and spend time with them.  This will increase your ability to think positive and attract more of what you want.

Key 5: Make a mental note or keep a journal of things that are happening to support movement toward manifesting your desires.  Even the smallest steps count and make it more possible for you to believe you can have what you want.

Key 6:Make a commitment to personal development.  I think network marketing and having your own business is the greatest vehicle for personal develop on the planet.  If things are not going in the direction you want them to go you are the only one to blame.  Yes you can try to blame other people or things but ultimately it comes down to you.

Key 7: Have an attitude of gratitude.   Being grateful for what you have is magnetic.  Make a gratitude journal and write at least one thing that happened each day that brought you closer to your dreams.

Finally, don’t be hard on yourself when things seem to be going in the wrong direction.  You can start fresh anytime.  If you find yourself where you don’t want to be, pick one of these keys and focus on it for a few days and watch the magic!

Creating a Dream Board that is alive on Pinterest!

I love the idea of creating dream boards.  If you have seen the movie The Secret  I am sure you remember the story that John Assaraf told about manifesting the exact home that was on one of this Vision Boards.  A dream board is a collection of images that represent the things you would like to manifest in your life.

Your ability to manifest what you want and create the life you dream of living can take a quantum leap forward when you create a Vision Board and put your attention on it daily. Creating a Vision Board is a fun and creative way for you to become clear on your dreams and desires and transform them into reality. We become what we think about and our lives are created from our thoughts.

  • A vision Board helps us to become very clear about what we want
  • A Vision Board makes your goals visible and keeps them in front of your eyes
  • A Vision Board reminds you of what you want
  • A Vision Board allows you to choose your goals
  • A Vision Board reminds you of what you are working for
  • A Vision Board keeps you in a positive mood – as you put your attention on it you will feel yourself receiving what you desire
  • A vision Board allows you to create a purpose in life

Dream boards can be created on a board with images you cut out of magazines or created on-line with a special program such as the one Oprah has.  Oprah’s Dream Board link.  I have made many dream boards over the years but the problem I have always had is they are so static.  I needed life and movement in my dreams as I think we all do.

Along came Pinterest!  At first I couldn’t figure out how to use Pinterest and couldn’t see the value in it.  When I finally learned from a friend how to use it I love it!   Recently I discovered that they have a “secret” board function where you can create boards that no one can see.  That is when it dawned on me that Pinterest Secret Boards would be the perfect dream board!!

A Pinterest board looks like this:

I created two secret boards for two things I am focusing on that I want to manifest.  I wanted separate boards to keep the intention pure and more focused.   I use images from Google  and videos from YouTube to build my boards.  Under each pin I write an affirmative statement that pertains to what I want to manifest.  Each time I add a new pin it adds to the energy and aliveness around the intention.   I can get into great detail about I what I want through images and statements.  This was not possible in the other formats.

With my secret boards I am creating a magnetic vortex that will manifest my desires quickly!

So imagine creating a secret Pinterest board just focused on your business.  You can name your board something like ” I am in the Magnetic Process of Exploding my Business” so that the name is focused on exactly what you want.  Through images and affirmative statements you can explode and expand the energy going into your business and stay positively focused on what you want to create.  It is all about energy so the point it to create a board that resonates the vibration that you want the Universe to respond to.  It is also very important to keep your dreams to yourself so that the energy doesn’t get diluted, so the secret boards are the perfect media.

Try it and let me know what happens! I will keep you posted on what is happening with mine!

Here is the link to my Pinterest Boards.  No you won’t be able to see my secret boards!

The Attraction of Law of Attraction

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought.” Buddha

By now most everyone has seen the movie, The Secret.   I saw it when it first premiered and remembered thinking, “This is really cool, but can I really say OM and a banana will appear in my hand.?”  And if you were thinking about pineapple at the same time there would be a little of that mixed in.  The movie made it look that easy.

Frankly I am glad that the concept of the Law of Attraction has gone mainstream because people are discovering that they have more power than they thought they had.  They are realizing that they both create and can change their reality.  People are becoming empowered to create lives that satisfy them rather than believing that life just happens to them.  I love seeing empowered people!

The catch is, you have to do more than think about all the wonderful things you want to create.

I have read books and watch videos of all the proponents of the Law of Attraction and I have also listened to and watched those who say it is a bunch of hooey. Some think it is God, some think it is all up to us and others think it doesn’t work at all and we have no control over what happens in your lives.  There is almost a polarized debate going on around understanding the concept of creating your own reality.

I watched a video spoof on the Law of Attraction the other day and it got me thinking.

First of all the Law of Attraction is one of the Laws of the Universe and it is not a new concept.  The New Thought Movement that took place from 1904-1910 had several proponents of the Law of attraction, including Thomas Troward, William Walker Atkinson, Wallace D. Wattles and Richard Weiss.   The actual phrase ” Law of Attraction” appears in the writings of the Theosophical authors.  As you can tell from my opening quote, it goes back farther than that.  I you want to find more information about the origins, The History of The Law of Attraction is a good place to start.

So does it work, or doesn’t it?

I have used the Law of Attraction to build me business over the past several years.  I believe it does work, but there is more to it than just thinking it so.   It works if there is a combination of thinking, dreaming, aligning with those dreams and taking action.  Sometimes it takes as little effort as thinking and aligning with what I want and seeing it manifest very quickly.  I think this happens, not because I am doing some magical thinking trick, but because my aligned thoughts are very powerful.  Things seemed to pop into reality because I had already laid the ground work and I got out of my own way.

Look at the word ‘attraction’.  It contains the two works ‘attract’ and ‘action’.  The word attract means ‘to cause to draw near or adhere by physical force’. In this definition I think of a magnet.   When used in relationship to The Law of Attraction, this magnetic force is your clear, focused thoughts about what you want to create.   Now if you take action from this magnetic state of attraction your inspired actions become magnetic and what you desire can come to you easily.

That is what I think Buddha meant when he said all that we are is a result of what we have thought.  Using the banana example, we can think something like ” I want a banana so bad that I will do anything to get it.  I need the banana and I will beg, borrow and steal to get it. ”  From this unaligned place of thinking you might manifest a banana, but it will look something like this:

Some people will think that the Law of Attraction doesn’t work, at this point, or they will realize they need to clean up their thoughts before they take action.

Aligned banana manifestation looks something like this:  ” I love bananas when they have just turned from green to yellow.  I love the sweet smell of bananas and when I eat them I feel happy inside.  I would love to have a whole bunch of bananas so that I can enjoy one everyday for breakfast.” You open your door and find a bunch of perfectly ripe bananas on your doorstep.

This a simplistic example of what is possible if you align your thoughts with what you want, clear out conflicting thoughts and take action.  Aligning with what you want is easy.  Clearing out conflicting thoughts is not, because a lot of them are not even in our consciousness.  The best way to discover what they are is to look around at what you have in your life right now.  It is a direct reflection of your previous thoughts and previous actions.

Yes the Law of Attraction does work and it requires action to bring things into manifestation.  Maybe someday we will be able to OM a banana into our hand but until then alignment, attraction and action are the magic ingredients.

I am the Luckiest Girl in the Universe!

I have played around with affirmations and intentions for years.  It all comes out of the idea that if you think positive thoughts you will create a positive life.  According the ‘create your own reality” community, if you use powerful positive thinking techniques, visualizations and positive affirmations, it is possible to achieve whatever you want.  I believe that this is true because I have experienced it in my own life.  It may be hard to believe but I used to be one of the most negative people in the world.  The years leading up to my 35th year gave me lots of reasons to “feel sorry for myself” and I wore victimhood like a badge.  Everything was wrong with my life, and do you know what, the more I thought that way the more the Universe supported my image, by sending me more of the same.

One day I got tired of being negative and the life that I was creating so I decided to change it.  This was in 1985.  My idea was to start recognizing the positive things in my life.   It took me a week to come up with one positive thing, but I celebrated and took notice.  Then I reached the point where I could find one positive thing a day and my life started changing.  At some point I reached the tipping point and I was seeing more positive than negative.  I can’t tell you the exact date because change was subtle, one day at a time.  The day that I realized that everything that happened in my life, both positive and negative, were a gift to help me evolve, was the day that my life transformed. I have told this story to clients throughout the years I was a therapist to show them that I wasn’t always as ‘put together’ as I appeared.

So back to affirmations and intentions.  I know how powerful they are but, because of my background, I still have a propensity toward doubt.  It is not huge but it is still there in the back of my mind.  Every time I have set out to come up with and say affirmations consistently I can only do it for so long before doubt creeps in and I quit.  At that point that part of me that demands to see proof, stands with her hands on her hips and a stern look on her face and says, OK Universe* show me!

A couple of weeks ago I had just finished Mike Dooley’s book “Infinite Possibilities” the art of living your dreams and was excited about trying some of his techniques.  You can read about it in my blog ” Does Visualization Really Work?” I picked two intentions and bought a notebook for each of them with the idea that I would write affirmations and set intentions every day for a month.  The two intentions are very important to me and one of them has been an intention for a long time.  I lasted for 4 or 5 days before that doubt seeped in and I started to think thoughts like ” this is never going to happen” or ” how is that possible”, both thoughts based on my current reality, something that is very detrimental to creating your own reality.  What we see now is only “what we see now” it is not possibility, but as being living in a human, 3D world what we see seems so real!

My whole understanding changed the day I woke up, wrote a few affirmations that fell flat and then wrote ” I am the Luckiest Girl in the Universe”.  It was like a wave of light and love rolled through my body.  I could feel the joy as I imagined the whole Universe standing behind me, cheering me on to success, happiness and joy.  Imagine that, the WHOLE Universe behind you! Until that moment I hadn’t been in touch with support like that.  I know it has always been there, but saying ” I am the Luckiest Girl in the Universe” put it in a new prospective.  I could feel it, seeing in my mind’s eye and knew it was real. I couldn’t see it, but I BELIEVED it!  My hands didn’t drop to my hips but flew into the air and my feet left the ground!

So now I only need one affirmation; “I am the Luckiest Girl in The Universe”. It contains both appreciation and expectation, two powerful emotions for manifestation.  Imagine waking up and going to sleep each day with that affirmation.  The power of it is changing my world.  The other part of this is that this is not just true for me but it is true for all of us.  We are not alone, we have vast and unlimited support.  We have a loving Creator and a limitless Universe cheering us on. At a personal level it will transform your life, your health and renew the joy and passion for life. Imagine waking up each morning, bursting with excitement, energy and joy for the new day! Imagine what you could create from that energy!

*The idea of the Universe for me is most likely the same as God to some people.  I think in terms of Universe because if feels more expansive and less defined than the word God, it is just a personal preference.

Day Three-Experiment in Living Spontaneously

This is how my day started today.  I was walking to the car when I looked down and spotted a four-leaf clover.  I have a knack for just spotting them.  You could hunt all day and never find one.  That’s how four-leaf clovers are, they have to call to you, you can’t just hunt them down.

There is an ancient mystique attached to the four-leaf clover that continues today.  Myth has it that if you find a four-leaf clover it is a rare occurrence and an omen of good luck. In the Middle Ages, it was also thought to allow the bearer to see fairies and plant sprites. So it was that children often searched fields for a four-leaf clover in order to see into the magical realm of the spirit world. The four-leaf clover is an uncommon variation of the common, three-leaved clover.  It has been estimated that there are approximately 10,000 three-leaf clovers for every four-leaf clover, and my yard can attest to that.  I usually find a couple each summer, by accident.

According to legend, each leaf represents something; the first is for faith, the second is for hope, the third is for love and the fourth is for luck.  I am taking it as a sign that I am on the right track and my intentions will manifest.

After finding the four-leaf clover I went to do some errands and people were particularly friendly to me.  As I was walking to the store two men passed me and said hello.  I smile and said hello back and one of them burst out in a “Praise the Lord!” like something awesome had just happened.   As I walked to the door of the store another man opened it open, said hello like I was a long-lost friend and held the door for me.  I must have been really shiny today!  The energy today is also telling me that men are noticing me which is great considering the intention I have of meeting my partner.

The rest of my day flowed really well.  I did some work for my business, had a visit and long conversation with my son and before I knew it was 3:00 and I hadn’t even eaten lunch.

One thing I have already become acutely aware of in the three days I have been on this Create-you-day quest is the level of mind chatter I still have going on in my mind.  This become more apparent when you are alone.   Yesterday when I was at the zoo I found myself thinking “Ok, what am I suppose to be doing now?”, “How is this going to get me where I want to go?”, “why am I doing this?”.  All of those voices are about  control, performance, and doing, three things I was programmed as a kid to do, by my parents and by society.  Damn! I was surprised that I still had that chatter going on.  If we have control we feel secure, if we are going with the flow we don’t.

It is clear that I am not yet comfortable with complete trust and complete flow.  The voices didn’t have too much to do when I was working because I had the days I worked and I had the days I was off.  There is a definite distinction not that all of my days are free, and the voices have gotten very active.

There is guidance and there is chatter and they are miles apart.  We all have both going on all of the time, unfortunately the chatter can get very loud and we can’t hear the guidance.  I have worked on the issues of control, performance and doing/achieving over the years but because it is a social program it is a hard nut to crack.

As a result of my years of personal develop I have awareness so I can see/hear what I am do and make a choice not to listen.  I can choose to turn down the volume on my chatter and turn up the volume on my higher wisdom, which I can easily identify because of years of practice.  Many people don’t have this ability and can only hear the chatter.  Guidance has a different quality, a frequency and speed that is different from chatter.

There is a stream of personal guidance flowing through your mind that is just for you, just like there is an ongoing stream of chatter.  The challenge is learning which one is which.  I know for me part of what I am supposed to learn from this experiment is to turn the volume on the chatter way down and trust my life.

Thank you universe for the four-leaf clover today, it will help me remember.
