Here are ten tips to help you pick the right network marketing opportunity for you.

1. Has the company been around for at least 5 years?

If you want the efforts you put in today to pay off for many years in the future, choose a company that has proven that it will be around for the long term.  Did you know that 90% of all network marketing companies FAIL within the first 2 years.  You will hear many people talking about how their opportunity is ground floor and how if you get in with the first people you will make a lot of money.  If the company is less than 5 years old it is a risk to get involved.  If you can afford to take that risk, go for it.  If you family depends on the money you would be spending your time better by looking for a Home Based Business Opportunity with a strong foundation. You don’t want to invest your precious time and resources (not to mention your future) in something that may not be in business next month, do you?

2. Is the company debt free?

Why is this important?  Most companies fail because they don’t have the cash to grow the company, maintain a solid infrastructure, invest in changing technology and put money back into the field through commissions and bonuses.

If a company is debt free they will be around for a long time.  The best Multi-level Marketing Opportunities will be with companies that are debt free.

3. Does the company offer products or services that are unique?

Does the Network Marketing Opportunity you are looking at have a unique product that can’t be duplicated?  If they only have products that have a lot of competition such as healthy juice, vitamins, skin care, jewelry it is going to be harder for you to sell and make good money.  You will be up against people who want you to defend your product against another product on the market.

4. Is there a genuine need for the product or service?

You’ve probably heard horror stories about people ending up with a garage full of expensive water filters, cases and cases of juice, boxes of makeup and piles of pills and the reason is only other distributors will purchase the product at that price, because there are so many options to choose from and many might be lest expensive.  It is human nature to want to buy at the best possible price.  You can have great products but the competition can kill your potential for making money and you will be left with a lot of product.  If you have a product that has a need and can’t be found any where else people will pay your asking price and you won’t be able to keep them in stock.

5. Is the product or service trendy or a fad?

If the company you are looking at is selling something that is current right now but may not be current forever, you can’t build long term residual income  if the product or service only has short term appeal.  When looking for an opportunity think in terms of longevity.   Is the product or service something that your customers will continue to use for a long time? If the company sells one time purchase items that is also not a good Multi-level Marketing opportunity if you are looking for residual income.

6. Can you generate immediate income?

So that you can finance your marketing and expansion efforts from cash flow.  Are there bonus’ build into the compensation plan up front where you make money immediately.  If you have to wait until you get to a certain level to get paid, pass that opportunity up.

7. Does the marketing system take full advantage of technology?

Does the company have an internet presence and a brand that is recognized?  Can anyone plug into the system and understand how it works.  is there training available on line?  Can people go to your website and purchase?  Is there a back office tracking system for your team?

8. Is the person who is introducing you to the opportunity committed to YOUR success?

If they are, the company is strong, and the product or service is a winner,  you WILL succeed. There’s a big difference between a “sponsor” and a “recruiter.” A sponsor coaches. motivates and trains and a recruiter just signs people up and in most cases, abandons them.  You have to be willing to learn, stay connected with your sponsor and stay plugged into the company.

9. Is there a way to build your business part-time without losing your full time income?

The company must have automated systems that can do the heavy lifting  for you so that you can use your limited time efficiently.  Is shipping automated and sent directly to the customer?  If you have to deliver products that is a time consideration.

10. Will you have FUN?

By all means look for a company that has a lot of fun.  Study the culture of the company which is easy with social media. Do people look like they are having fun?  Does the team do things together.  There are people you will be working long term with and it needs to be fun!

These are  —ten criteria for selecting a superior network marketing opportunity that will help you pin down the right opportunity for you. Of course, even with a great company, there’s no such thing as a free lunch. You WILL have to work! But, with the right opportunity, it won’t have to be forever!
